How Do You "Get" a Raffle Ticket?
Well, earning a raffle ticket takes 3 steps:
How do you prove you've read the book? Choose one of the following:
AR Quiz: Take an AR Quiz. If you pass with 85% or higher, print out the results and give them to Mrs. Ornes.
Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Each student writes a review of the book he or she just finished reading -- in the style of a movie review. The student concludes by awarding a thumbs up or thumbs down on the book. (Reviews must be at least one page typed, double spaced with 12 pt font)
Be an Artist: Create your own Book Cover/Jacket for the Book that is creative, colorful and includes title, author and a short synopsis (plot) of the book.
Book Talk. Make an appointment with Mrs. Ornes, your librarian, to sit down and discuss the book for a few minutes.
Fifteen Facts. Each student creates a "Fiften Facts About [book title]" sheet that lists ten facts he or she learned from reading the book. The facts, written in complete sentences, must include details the student didn't know before reading the book.
Create a comic strip of an important or favorite part of the book.
Summarize: Write a one page summary of the book. Summaries must be at least one page typed, double spaced with 12 pt font.)
Come up with your own idea and talk it over with Mrs. Ornes
