(Press Release) — Sisters in Crime is pleased to announce that Kagman High School library has been awarded the organization’s We Love Libraries $1,000 grant to buy books for its collection.
Sisters in Crime is dedicated to promoting the ongoing advancement, recognition and professional development of women crime writers. Members are authors, readers, publishers, agents, booksellers and librarians bound by a passion for the mystery genre. Libraries in the United States, including commonwealths and territories, can enter the group’s monthly We Love Libraries lottery by submitting an entry form and a photo of one or more staff members with three books by Sisters in Crime authors.
Kagman High School librarian Maria Ornes said: “Kagman High School is extremely grateful and excited to be the October 2017 winner of the Sisters in Crime We Love Libraries program. We plan on using the money to update our library collection with student selected mystery and suspense novels. Sisters in Crime’s We Love Libraries program has just made it easier for us to build and maintain a current and relevant library collection for our students. Thank you!”

Once you have finished your book, create a book slide for your book portfolio. 1 completed book slide = 1 chance to go to the movies. You really want to see Jumanji? Complete 10 book slides. If you have any questions, ask Mrs. Ornes or your Language Arts teacher. The deadlline to share completed book slides with Mrs. Ornes is Decemeber 13. Movie day is on Friday, December 22. Good Luck!
1. Title Slide: Add your Language Art's teacher's name.
2. Title Slide: Add the period you have Language Arts.
3. Insert a 'Second Quarter' slide after your 1st Quarter work.
4. Book Portfolios are due on December 13.
5. One completed book slide = 1 chance to go to the movies.

Friday: 7:45 - 4:00
The KHS Library is open for lunch everyday except for half day Fridays.
