XOXO, Library Aids Okay movie goers - there has been a change in plan. The 5th Wave has not crashed on our shores yet, so we will watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The movie is based on the book, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which is based on Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride and Prejudice. Thursday's (2/4/16) bulletin should have the list of students who have been chosen to go. SSA forms are due back on Tuesday, Feb 9, and head to the movie on Feb 10. @ 8:45. How Do You "Get a Raffle Ticket?Well, earning a raffle ticket takes 3 steps:
How do you prove you've read the book? Choose one of the following: AR Quiz: Take an AR Quiz. If you pass with 85% or higher, print out the results and give them to Mrs. Ornes. OR Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Each student writes a review of the book he or she just finished reading -- in the style of a movie review. The student concludes by awarding a thumbs up or thumbs down on the book. (Reviews must be at least one page typed, double spaced with 12 pt font) OR Be an Artist: Create your own Book Cover/Jacket for the Book that is creative, colorful and includes title, author and a short synopsis (plot) of the book. OR Book Talk. Make an appointment with Mrs. Ornes, your librarian, to sit down and discuss the book for a few minutes. OR Fifteen Facts. Each student creates a "Fiften Facts About [book title]" sheet that lists ten facts he or she learned from reading the book. The facts, written in complete sentences, must include details the student didn't know before reading the book. OR Create a comic strip of an important or favorite part of the book. OR Summarize: Write a one page summary of the book. Summaries must be at least one page typed, double spaced with 12 pt font.) OR Come up with your own idea and talk it over with Mrs. Ornes Start Reading Now; Contest Ends January 10, 2016! If a student earns 10 or more raffle tickets, he or she automatically qualifies to go to the movies. Questions? We have four thousand dollars to spend on books YOU want to read! Come to the library and let us know how we should spend our money. Wish lists are posted and waiting for your ideas. Our wish list will be submitted at the end of November. Don't wait!

1. Book Mark Contest - We need bookmarks! Here are the rules: must be student original work, bookmarks should be drawn on 2" x 7 paper, design must convey the theme "Unlimited Possibilities @ Your Library. Turn in Bookmarks to Mrs Ornes by April 30. The top designer wins an ipad mini and sees their creation in everyone's book! 2. Book Trailer Contest - Create your own fabulous book trailer. Submit it to PSS and have the chance to win two ipad minis (one for you and one for your partner.) See Mrs. Ornes for details. 3. Let's have some fun and Get Caught Reading!
